The Arai Quantum-X Wave Helmet in Small is designed for riders with a slightly wider, round oval head shape rather than an elongated profile. Its interior head liner combines thicker front and rear pads with thinner side pads to provide a more suitable fit for this head shape. The helmet includes Arai’s FCS® Cheek Pads, which use contoured shaping and multiple foam densities supported by a foam “spring” to cradle the face, improve comfort during helmet removal, and help reduce wind noise.
For enhanced impact management, the Quantum-X uses Arai’s Peripherally Belted Super Complex Laminate Construction (PB-SCLC) shell. The Variable Axis System (VAS) shield system lowers the shield pivot point by an average of 24 mm, creating a smoother shell surface around the temple area to help improve glance-off performance. The improved VAS latch securely holds the shield closed and supports intuitive operation, including use of the de-mist function. A VAS-Max Vision (VAS-MV) shield is installed and accepts a Pinlock® lens, with a Pinlock® 120 lens included.
Ventilation is managed by QVF three-position intake and QVR exhaust ducts for efficient airflow while riding. The side vent continues to function as an exhaust vent even when the top duct’s front shutter is closed. A water-repellent ES Chin Cover comes installed to enhance the helmet’s egg-shaped profile, smooth airflow, increase exhaust from the mouth area, and reduce wind noise entering from below.
