The Alpinestars SM7 Core helmet is engineered for off-road racing and demanding riding conditions. This large-size helmet features a lightweight, multi-layer composite shell constructed from fiberglass, carbon, and aramid fiber to balance impact protection, force dissipation, sliding performance, energy absorption, stability, ventilation, and durability. Its aerodynamic profile has a smooth, streamlined exterior without unnecessary channels or protrusions that could create load points during an impact. The shell curvature promotes reduced friction and improved deflection, helping transfer energy away from the rider’s head, neck, and spinal column.
Ventilation is provided by 20 individual intake and exhaust ports, including 13 intake ports and 7 exhaust ports, to promote airflow during intense off-road riding. The removable, hand-washable liner uses antimicrobial-treated fabrics for improved freshness and hygiene. The adjustable top pad works with the A-Head Fitment system, while interchangeable 3D foam cheek pads allow the fit to be customized across all shell sizes. The cheek pads also include an emergency extraction system, a hydration-tube channel, and integrated channels on both sides for hydration system routing.
Safety-focused features include Alpinestars PLASMA technology integrated into the lower side pads to help dissipate energy near the collarbone area. The Visor Detaching System is designed to release the visor when impact energy exceeds 15 joules, helping reduce stress regardless of impact direction. The helmet is communication-system compatible, with a cutaway in the left-side EPS and speaker recesses on both sides. A 25-millimeter nylon chin strap with stainless-steel double-D rings provides secure retention, while removable strap covers simplify washing. The SM7 Core is finished in matte orange and blue and is supplied in large size. Manufacturer and vendor part number: 8301826-408-L.
