The Alpinestars SM7 Core helmet is engineered for off-road racing and demanding powersports use. This large-size helmet features a lightweight multi-layer composite shell made from fiberglass, carbon, and aramid fiber to balance impact protection, force dissipation, sliding performance, energy absorption, stability, and durability. Its streamlined aerodynamic profile is free of external channels that could create impact load points, while the shell curvature helps reduce friction and promote controlled deflection during an impact.
Ventilation and comfort are central to the SM7 design. Twenty dedicated intake and exhaust ports, including 13 intakes and 7 exhausts, promote efficient airflow during intense riding. The removable, hand-washable liner includes antimicrobial-treated fabrics, and the A-Head system allows the top pad to be adjusted for a more personalized fit. Interchangeable cheek pads are available in multiple thicknesses and feature 3D foam construction, an emergency extraction system, and a channel for routing a hydration tube. Integrated side channels also support hydration-system installation.
Protection features include Alpinestars PLASMA technology integrated into the lower side pads to improve shock absorption near the collarbone area. The Visor Detaching System is designed to release the visor when impact energy exceeds 15 joules, helping reduce stress regardless of impact direction. The helmet also includes a 25 mm nylon chin strap with stainless steel double-D rings, removable strap covers, and communication-system compatibility with an EPS cutaway and speaker recesses on both sides.
